The Sly One, The alley cat man
He will love you then rob you blind

The Sly One, The alley cat man
He walks where trouble likes to stay,
In shadows, corners, out the way.
A smile that hides what hands have done,
He plays the game, to him it’s just fun.
He cheats at cards, he tips the dice,
Then swears he’s fair and talks so nice.
You’d think him kind, the way he speaks,
But lies come tumbling through his cheeks.
He slips through doors like alley cats,
With sharp-eyed charm and clever chats.
He’ll win your trust, then steal your chair—
And act like he was never there.
The drinkers nod, the dealers grin,
They know the sort of game he’s in.
He’s not a thief you catch or hold.
He’s slick, and smooth, and far too bold.
So keep your coins and keep your name,
Don’t ever join him in his game.
For once he grins, and calls you “friend,”
It’s only downhill to the end.
