You Punched Me Again Today

Why? I loved you so much at the start

You Punched Me again

Bruised and confused,

you hurt me

You raised your hand,

I felt the sting,

My heart sank,

Like a stone in water.

You spoke in anger,

Cold and sharp,

Each word a scar,

That lingers still.

I stood so small,

Yet strong inside,

Though bruised and confused,

I will not fall.

Nights are heavy,

I lie awake,

Shadows speak,

Of what was done.

The mirror stares,

At marks I hide,

Skin remembers,

What you deny.

But I am here,

My breath is mine,

Each dawn I rise,

A step away.

Will you smile or punch me today?

one day I will run away

Good one that should be part of a women's support group somehow.
