You Got to Fly

Someday in some way,

all our souls will have to fly.

Across the skies,

to another life,

to be reunited with our loved ones.

How hard it is when the love of your life,

must fly before you,

how much I wished I could fly along,

just to see you on your way.

Then down below I'd know, which star you were swinging on

and winking down to me.

The contentment is that,

even though it appears a lonely sky,

it is the only sky,

through which someday,

united we'll be.

As long as the memories shine,

of the faces and place that came before,

as long as you're waiting for me

and we can go dancing along the Milky Way.

Until the time I'll have to fly,

I know I can get by,

with songs and thoughts -

that bring me back to you.
