She was wonder.
She swam through life
Breezily in the summer’s air
The warm sun gracefully emanating her skin.
She,
A pale blue.
She was ease.
Winning every lap,
Singing the sound of ocean birds,
Dancing on the water’s surface.
She was ready.
Ready for life.
Ready for joy,
For love,
For
wonder.
But she crashed
into obstacles
Splattered into the deepest blue.
Hitting waves more forceful than one can simply ride.
Ob-sta-cles.
What a harsh word.
To think it has the power to damage us
To hurt, to poison, to rust
Our very being.
But it did.
Break up. Desperate.
Heart ache. Suffocate.
Parents in prison. Overwhelm.
Alone.
Despair.
Drowning. Down. Down. Down.
To the floor’s surface
A momentary release. Please.
I beg. Anything.
To Forget. Forgive me.
Freedom.
Momentary.
Violent vomiting
Pale purple.
Hatred.
En-dur-ing loathing
Again?
A momentary release. Please.
I beg. Anything.
To Forget. Forgive me.
Again? A momentary release.
Forgive me.
Enough. She says enough.
She has love.
Again?
She has strength.
Again?
She is wonder
Again.
