Wisterias and Amethyst

A nod to my favorite color

Fields full of wisteria

orchids that blossom in spring

The distinct aroma of lilac

green grass splattered with petite violets

An imperfectly cut Amethyst pendant

its corners and edges glisten in the light

I clasp the necklace around my neck

My fingers graze the gem feeling its alure

While its cut is imperfect, it shines with royal perfection

The nighttime sky

stars against midnight black

As my eyes gaze from constellation to another

My mind drifts, imagination takes hold

My sense of wonder follows

Suddenly midnight black gives way to a spiraling galaxy

A sight of captivating cosmos

Of which might only exist in my imagination

Simply magical

in hues of dark purple

Just like the wisterias and amethyst
