Winter Solstice 2022
Words Inspired By The Winter Solstice, The Moon and The Art Of Bridget Wilkinson

Today is the Winter Solstice and I thought I would write a short poem to celebrate it. The image I have chosen is by Bridget Wilkinson and you can see more of her work on her site below. She is also on Facebook here as well.
The winter solstice, also called the hibernal solstice, occurs when either of Earth's poles reaches its maximum tilt away from the Sun. This happens twice yearly, once in each hemisphere (Northern and Southern)
The music can only be "Ring Out Solstice Bells" by Jethro Tull.

Wow, this was so amazing! Loved your poem so much!
Nice! Thanks for the song reminder, and also for being the only other person that I've known to use the word "hibernal" today! Love it!
Excellent Mike. I woke up this morning with dirt between my toes and hoarse. My neighbor came over and complained about a howling wolf that he popped with his bird gun. Oh, by the way, my butt hurts. Itβs going to be a long winter.
