Winter Night, Give Way to Spring
For the "Sonnet of Shadows" Challenge

Let me compare thee to a winter's night,
Chilling cold and shattered from your senses,
Beautiful and encompassing without delight,
A dangerous slumber with consequences.
By midnight you come shrouded,
Hiding the truth of your nature - a white out,
And I sleep beside you with eyes clouded,
Deep in the slumber of our love - devout.
Now I wake as the sun rises,
Your winter shroud melting away,
Revealing a form that catalyzes,
My long forsaken dream; a doorway.
A golden route of flowers,
Awaiting this: springtime rain showers.

Wooohooooo congratulations on your honourable mention! 🎉💖🎊🎉💖🎊
Delightful to read.
Beautiful imagery and play on the seasons. I love the personification of a winter storm as a person that then melts away into springtime warmth. Excellent job. Good luck on the challenge!
Great take on the challenge to take us through the winter months
This was soooo poignantly beautiful! Loved your poem!
This is sublime, Amanda. The rhymes don't feel forced and the flow is beautiful. Especially love the emotions and the imagery that it evokes! Well done!
