Wings That Can Not Fly

Eye’s wide open yet sadly death killed love

Wings That Can Not Fly

The love bird died of a broken heart,

Feathers quiet, silent,

where a song once sparked.

No storm took it, no cage too tight,

Just the echo of wings that lost their fight.

It perched on a silence too heavy to bear,

Eyes glassy with a longing

still hanging in the air.

Not a wound in sight, not a claw out of place,

Just an empty sky, a forgotten embrace.

The world didn’t notice, the sun didn’t fade,

But the love bird died, and the sorrow stayed.
