WHY? Just because I'm a GIRL??
A bitter conversation between a Teenage girl and her parents
By SoftSpokenStoriesPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

Why can't I just go out and play?
You keep me locked inside all day.
I see my brother run and roam,
While I'm stuck here alone in this room.
You talk of danger, bad guys near,
But I can't live my life in fear.
I know you care, I know you're kind,
But can't you ease this worried mind?
Let me taste the summer air,
I'm not a bird in a gilded cage,
I want to laugh and to jump and to play,
Not just watch my childhood fade away.
