Why do my words not count to you?

The Syllable Counter is causing me heartbreak. I think we might have to split up. I am bereft.

To count, the count has to be correct.

But what if the trust is not there?

How can I continue now,

Knowing that what I count

Does not count to you?

It makes no sense!

I wish my

Words did

Count.

Hahah! I found comedy in the subtitle and love that even though this is true, it has a metaphorical feel to it for me!! Well done Rachel!!

Hahaha! Love this! As others have said, funny but with a layer of genuine lament beneath

Aww! Syllables are a real pain! This is a great, fun nonet. Your words definitely count as far as I'm concerned. 😊

I’m truly sorry, Rachel, that the stupid count program is not working, since it will deprive your loyal readers of your lovely work in this challenge and is likely frustrating other creatives on Vocal as well!

Haha. Hell yeah! From what I'm heard from others, that syllable counter is deranged.

  • I will be candid here. I had to read this one a few times. On my initial read I thought, "Well, this is silly." But I had to go back and read it again because I know your work, Rachel, and there's usually more to it than just silliness. After I read it again I recognized and felt the heartbreak and the frustration of wanting to be valued and counted as meaningful. I really enjoyed this there's a lot of depth in your words.

Oh, the struggles of a poet! I hope you win, Rachel.

  • No matter what we do, the winners list would have people who have either extra or lesser syllables than whats required, lol.

This has real heartache to it among the silliness! Such is your talent and abilities, Rachel! Loved this unique take on the challenge and the challenge of wrestling with a flawed counter.
