Who You Were I Never Knew

Who Are You?

Who you were I never knew

Maybe you were a good actor

Maybe you were just always like this

Maybe, a thousand maybe's

I never knew you that is for sure

Other people found you strange

However I always took up for you,

And tried to see the best in you

Now it is too late, because life has passed me by

I can imagine it is a scenario that a lot of people have lived with

Or as we speak are living with the same thing

Perhaps in old age we all face this type of thing

Perhaps the children are meant to lighten our futures

And put a smile on our faces

sad poetry
