When I Am No More
An existential poem

When I am no more
The earth will still stand
The flowers will bloom
Life will come to no end.
The rivers will run
When I am no more
The moon will still glow
Once sets down the sun.
The birds will still sing
While the animals roar
When I am no more
When I am no thing.
The squirrel will stash
And the eagle will soar
When I burn into ash
When I am no more.
I am only a speck,
just stardust in all things
The Universe couldn’t care less for my feelings.
P.S. This was my first ever attempt at (somewhat) rhyming poetry. The magnolia painting is my own as well. I’d like to think that when it’s my time I’d float away on the bed of magnolia flowers.

This was similar to your other one but I like the way to veered into different direction! The rhythm and rhyme scheme were also pleasing as a reader! Nicely done, Lana!
I am no artist, but I am about to start painting, seeing where it goes. This is lovely and the word magnolia itself is beautiful. Hope your wish of floating on magnolia comes to fruition when the time comes.
I love it!! Great job.
Have you seen Kayleigh's challenge? Your poem seems to fit that very well! I love both your poem and painting!
Awesome poem
Great poem and nice painting!
This reasonable
Oh a soothing one.
I am reasonably sure you meant metaphorically, but that would make for quite a nice funeral I think. Floating away on a bed of flowers. What smashing imagery.
"I’d like to think that when it’s my time I’d float away on the bed of magnolia flowers." Wonderful! Love your rhyming poetry! It's great!😊💕❤️
