When Hearts Drown the Soul
It builds up, to much for the tender heart to hold

When Hearts Drown the Soul
It starts so small, a crack, a slip
a name half-whispered on the lip
a glance that falters, steps that slow
and all you thought you’d never know
You hold the weight behind your eyes
pretend you’re fine with practiced lies
but silence builds, and shadows grow
where once the love would overflow
No flood arrives, just steady rain
that dulls the spark and sharpens pain
a ghost of touch, a colder bed
the things you wished you’d never said
And hearts, when heavy, sink like stone
they pull you down, they leave you prone
no storm to fight, no waves that roll,
just stillness where they drown the soul
