So many words
Chosen for me
Given freely
Or without thought
There’s come a time
For me to choose my own
My quill hovers over the page
Ink droplets fall
I don’t know
What words I want
What words to choose
A blank page before me
A gift, a curse
How to pick
A path was always
Laid before me
My words were always
Clear and faded
Ink dried long ago
Now for new ones
On fresh parchment
To embrace a new life
But what life to choose
What words to pick
I don’t know
I don’t know
I don’t know
