You tell me you love me

Tell me we have something special

Tell me our love is like no other

That others don't experience love like ours

Then get mad at me when I don't understand that you don't want me

That you feel nothing

That this is too much for you

You say you understand me

Then where are you

When I'm missing you

You say I don't see you

Then why am I here ?

Even though you're not.

Despite hurting deep inside

Fighting back against these cries

A web of lies unfolding in my mind

I'm ripping this dark tarp that falls over my eyes

Just so I can see you

Everyday I wait

I don't want to berate

Oppressing this mental state

I don't want it to dictate

I try to put on a face

One without weight

Hoping you'll like what you see

I want to be simply easy and pleasing

Hoping you'll show up for me

But here I wait

Stagnant in the ever passing of time

Feeling like an eternity

Slowly breaking

I wonder who you see
