Welcome The Morning
Welcome, morning, warm and bright,
Bathed in calm and golden light.
Breezes stir the waking land,
Time slips soft from nature’s hand.
Robins flit through silver air,
Fields lie open, green and bare.
Mist retreats along the lane,
Sunshine follows after rain.
Steps begin with quiet grace,
Sleep still soft on every face.
Cups are filled, the kettle hums,
All the world in rhythm drums.
Leaves are brushed with gold,
Stories in the silence told.
Clouds drift slow and half-asleep,
Secrets in their softness keep.
Not a cry, no worries, just love,
Only light, from the sky above.
Day begins, not loud but true,
Offered down to me and you.
So welcome, morning, not to stay,
But mark the start of one more day.
No promise made, no vow to keep,
Just breath drawn in, as we awake from sleep
