Fear Not The Night
Fear not the night,
after darkness comes light,
the stars do not bite,
they only burn bright.
The wind may sound cruel,
but it follows no rule,
it rattles and roams,
then quiets and goes.
Fear not the deep,
where silence can creep,
you are not lost,
just pausing your leap.
The moon does not mock,
she’s steady as a clock,
she watches, she waits,
she opens the gates.
So hush all your dread,
rest your tired head,
not all that is still
is empty or ill.
Darkness is time,
it hums in slow rhyme,
but morning will break,
as sure as you will wake.
