Grass
Some of the grassy knoll was mowed, and it was so beautiful—the natural patterns of the freshly cut grass. Then the rest of the knoll was left untamed. This was equally beautiful and mesmerizing, as the breeze blew the green blades of grass back and forth.

Day 4 of Quitting
If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.

A beautiful Haiku… I find running water, or any body of water so relaxing or rejuvenating.
This one felt like a deep breath. The lines paired with together creates such a calm but textured scene. I’m reading through all the entries now, and this brought a real sense of peace. Thank you for sharing it.
