Walking in a Winter Wonderland

A Walk Down Memory Lane

We walked down the street

Hands stuffed deep in our pockets

Attached at the hip

Night gathered ‘round us

Temperatures dropped down low

Highlighting our breath

I looked on in awe

As lights sparkled in twilight

Shining off the snow

Colorful delight

Dancing in enchanted eyes

Mesmerizing stars

Santas and reindeer

Trees with their leaves all aglow

Winter wonderland

You and me, so small

And so insignificant

Before this beauty

We stood in silence

For once at peace together

At peace with ourselves

No money problems

No yelling or pounding doors

No hiding alone

We almost forgot

All that waited us back at home

Temporary truce

Family
