VALENTINE Anniversary

Second month, February,
fourteenth day in 2024, our
Thirty-seventh wedding anniversary
Numbers. Many numbers.
Fourteen, Two, Thirty-seven,
Two thousand, Twenty-four.
They equal today,
Valentine’s Day, 2024.

I could write a rhyming poem,
A love poem,
But this - this is a free verse
longevity poem.
Happy Anniversary to my
husband.
thirty-seven years
of married friendship and romance,
adventurous travels,
wonderful gatherings filled
with food, family, and friends
our road of love, dented with heartbreak,
sometimes cracked in tragedy or
wrinkled in illness
yet, we’re here, together.
I’m here
always for you, as I know
you are for me.
Happy Valentine Anniversary 2024.
