Under Your Mask : The Real You

This poem tells us that we should stop pretending to be like anyone and be what we are, and never compromise with ourselves.

By Husamuddin ChittalwalaPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Maybe you didn't get an amazing life but the life got the amazing you,

So stop, break this mask of pretending and please be the real you

See the shine of dreams in your eyes, see the tired epic face as it tries,

Oh you failed to complete your dreams?

Don't worry because even when a cloud in the sky is pressured it cries.

Oh you are a mountain of the most amazing skills,

But people still say you didn't achive the clouds and that feels like bitter pills.

But they don't know if the mountain's too high,

Even the clouds have to reach ground admiring the skills

Not a mask such a barricade,

That makes the traffic of self-thoghts fade,

Still it's gonna create such a jam

That your thoughts are gonna crash on someone and then, there will be no aid.

No, it was not woven by you, actually it was stitched to you,

It was made by the jelous people who later are gonna ditch you.

So these were some layers of your mask,

Now just put them in a lab flask,

And now pour in some acid of truth,

And the reaction is just gonna leave you aghast,

Then living for yourself is gonna become your task.

This thing will either make you clueless what the hell is this mask or make you jump with joy,

Don't worry I am also one of you,

I am also one of those decoy.
