It's all a circus

and I'm just an acrobat

swinging along

hoping there's a rope to catch.

My greatest fear;

falling down

before it's my time.

-

They put up this tent

around 40 years ago.

It's stood quite strong

despite all of the hot air that blows

out of mouths from all those

who swore they were so fine.

-

I'll twirl up above in the rings

so it looks like I'm dancing

and soar through the air

defying gravity's romancing

myself , cause I've learned to love me

after all of this time

-

After all the clown shitshows

I've finally learned how to fly

This poem is such a beautifully bittersweet take on life's ups and downs. "Defying gravity's romancing myself"—that "imagery is stunning and speaks volumes about self-love. The circus metaphor is perfect, and the ending leaves me feeling hopeful and inspired! 🌞🩶🤎

  • How you used the circus as a metaphor, allowing the reader to interpret the layers of meaning behind the performances and the performers themselves. It was a powerful exploration of life, illusion, and the complexities hidden beneath the surface.
