(true) perception

vs reality

By angela hepworthPublished 8 months ago Updated 8 months ago 1 min read

how many things can be true at once

or perhaps

how many truths can there be without the lie?

does any one truth stand tall and proud without a fragment of deception?

is reality a time warp, a perspective battle of sorts, where everything and nothing is true

simultaneously, all at once, but simply is, and always was, and could never be put into words

by anyone but the wordsmiths who lived to tell their truths and nothing but those truths

living and dying by the sword of what they thought they knew

or by the wordsmiths who, instead, reveled in the lie

who soaked in the warm, sweet liquor of deception, whether meaningfully or not,

and constructed their own realities

their own worlds within worlds

their own truth within a fabrication

I don’t love this, but oh well. I wanted to publish a little something to battle writer’s block. ♥️

A piece that makes you think. Love it.

I'm quite intrigued by this actually, I thought it was going to blast phony creators but then it seemed to tug at the not so often seen good sign of not-truth that fiction/fantasy writers explore

  • Heyyyy Angela! My commenting ability was revoked on 15 May and only now I'm able to comment. That's why I've only been reading and hearting your stuff without commenting.

Woahh! This left me thinking! You may not love it, but I certainly do!! Incredibly done, babe! 🌟💝

I think about this as well. I have held many beliefs that were proven false, confronted by logic. Then also witnessed many others hold truths they believe with a whole heart - loving but erroneous and still harmful. I think perhaps only the truly wise, like you, consider the nature of truth as an entity unto itself to tease apart meaning. ❤️

Writer's block really does suck. Just know your talent and skill haven't gone anywhere. This poem still has the Angela-kapow to it (and I, for one, loved it)! You'll win the battle soon, I'm sure ♥️ Especially with such a strong and philosophical mind. Such a big brain can never be blocked for long!
