Total meltdown of my heart
It slipped without a warning
a crack inside my chest
the weight of every silence
pulling tighter than the rest
No fire could burn it colder
no touch could break it free
a storm I cannot manage
has taken hold of me
The night is loud with nothing
the morning does not start
I am standing in the ruins
total meltdown of my heart
The walls I built are broken
their pieces on the floor
I thought they might protect me
they hold me back no more
The mirror shows a stranger
I hardly know her face
her eyes are glass and heavy
her smile has left no trace
Every breath is trembling
each step a dragging weight
the hours fall around me
and leave me in their wake
I reach for words to save me
they scatter and depart
I am standing in the ruins
total meltdown of my heart

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️
