So you wish to be a king?
First, there’s something you must know…
How not to be a king is written down below.
***
A king is not a bully
The kingdom cannot be sullied
So be careful of who you hurt
Because hallowed ground will quake
To the sound of shallow crowns
*
For when blood is spilt
You might just drown
On the moral spirit
Of laboured conscience
On which your walls are built
You’ll find within the cold of stone, eyes will start to form
To watch the fall of doctrines told
Your lies will tear them down
*
Betray the words of promises sworn
And find no help to be found
Bounding songs of rebellions born
Will serenade a throne of sorrow
With the words of sirens sung
Of stolen votes and broken hope
Which fall upon the death of ears
Fate will not be kind
*
So be careful of the truth you sow
The delusion of grandeur self-imposed
You’ll find no kingdoms for you to borrow
Only the growth of lies exposed
So reign your fields with seeds of greed
And prepare yourself to starve
Because there are no kingdoms left to steal
And no kings of hollow hearts
Only kingdoms that fall apart.
