To Peel A Potato
Is Something I Do Quite Often

Introduction
I do this quite often. I enjoy potatoes in moderation but some people don't like them. They are discussed here:
This is a humorous take on potatoes, so I have included The Coyotemen's "Can She Cook" for a noisy soundtrack. The lead singer Dave Campbell is a great friend and they are very big in Spain. I included the single and my live capture of them.
They are the main component of one of my favourite pies which I eulogised in an ode here:
To Peel A Potato

To Peel A Potato, Now There's A Thing
They Told Me The Goodness Is In The Skin
So When I Peel, Am I Throwing Away
The Benefits This Tuber Has, They Say

A Potato Peeler, A Blade That Cuts
To Remove And Shed The Skin Of The Spuds
Careful, Keep You Fingers Out Of The Way
Or You Will Need A Plaster Right Away

Or Fish And Chips Is A Meal You Could Try
They Could Be Dauphinoise, Boiled, Creamed Or Mashed
As A Favorite Food They're Not Surpassed

But Whatever You Make, It's A Win/Win

This a great poem!
I will never understand not liking potatoes.
I loveeeeeeeeee potatoes, especially as French fries and potato chips! Awesome poem!
I love potatoes any which way. When I was in my teens, my father had a takeaway store and restaurant. My job was to peel the potatoes. He had developed a bit of a following in the town for his fresh crinkle-cut potato chips. During the tourist season, I would peel at least a sack of potatoes a day. I still have the crinkle-cutting tool after all these years.
Soundtrack to preparing the holiday meals? Nice work, Mike!
My wife thanks you she feels the potato is under appreciate
This made me hungry for potatoes and a baked potato loaded sounds so good. Great work.
Enjoyed this and now I need some fried potatoes.
This is a delightful and humorous take on the humble potato. Your playful tone and clever wordplay make for a fun and engaging read. The inclusion of the song "Can She Cook" adds a quirky touch and enhances the overall experience. It's a great example of how even the most mundane tasks can be celebrated through creative writing.
You have managed to take peeling a potato and make it enjoyable to read!!
