Time to play…
Cards: Wonderland Poetry Prompt Challenge Day 11
Playing cards swiftly shuffle
Playing cards smoothly slide
Dealt directly to aristocrats
Dripping in diamonds.
*
UNO cards colourfully clump
UNO cards frantically flip
Ebbing — flowing — player to player
Until first one ‘out’.
*
Ligretto suits stubbornly stall
Ligretto suits chaotically climb
Hands and cards blur in motion
Adrenaline spikes.
*
Some cards are fought over
Some cards form fragile ‘houses’
Silently solitary or raucously rowdy…
Playing cards entertain.
*
Written for the prompt ‘Cards’. Ligretto is a ‘cardio workout’ where simultaneous sequences are played as everyone attempts to discard their cards first. It’s one of my favourite card games!

I love how you used different card games in this and showcased the different ways cards can be played, including solitaire, by the rich, or by family/friends playing a rowdy game of house rules UNO.
I've never heard of Ligretto before. It sure does sound fun. Loved your poem!
Nicely done, Angie. I had never heard of Ligretto, I will have to look it up. I am intrigued.
I've also never heard of Ligretto! Sounds both fun and intense!
Great job!
