This Too Shall Pass

A poem for dark moments

By Ishka's WorldPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

So hard it is sometimes to see

Light, reason or colour beyond grey.

Sometimes interactions with the world ache to the core.

A smile so hard to give,

Strangers, everywhere.

Life, alike the sea, a constant ebb & flow.

Don't condemn yourself to stay forever.

Don't rush yourself to land.

Just know, our discontentment,

Our private, precious, tremendous fear,

The personal disappointments, the look of wear,

These, are the things, in solitude,

we ALL share.

Take your eyes from the floor,

just a moment will do,

See the eyes of another,

witness their woe,

or grasp their warmth.

In this brief  encounter,

Solace can be taken.
