Every day the world creeps closer,

something happens

and the colors from your life disappear,

leaving you trembling in a gray and white world.

Teeming streets full of crazies,

never knowing who you can trust,

wondering how you’ll make it -

through another day.

they take pen and paper or sit down to a keyboard,

then comes inspiration

and they take a giant step outside their minds.

Suddenly the sun’s shining,

there is wonder everywhere,

the world of fantasy -

has opened up its doors.

Fast cars, fast trains, fast jets,

you can be here today

and gone tomorrow,

never a moments peace just more money to borrow.

Another day dawns,

more troubles on the horizon.

If you’re not careful the world knocks upon the door

and you’re afraid of venturing forth.

making note for a new screenplay.

The poet well she’s crying now -

expressing all of the emotions deep in her heart.

They’re in a world they make of their own,

where nothing can hurt them

and where they make magic happen,

pieces which delight and please readers.

Stories and poems,

that can make one laugh and cry and love and sigh,

letting them for but a moment—

step into the world of writers and poets.

Another rocket comes shooting from the sky,

someone terrorizing and scaring.

Even when you lock your door,

you never know what lurks outside.
