The Water's Riddle

A Sonnet

For a moment, I became a dolphin

A note in a cool, cobalt symphony

Proudly displaying an eternal grin

Swimming with effortless alacrity

A droplet, fit to contain the whole sea

Sleek, swift and certain as a torpedo

Using laughter's echoes my prey to see

Shameless, silver slave of my libido

Dread harbinger of doom for every fish

A swift, sentient, saline, summersault

The fulfillment of a dying ape's wish

To all aching dread, calling a quick halt

Fluent in all aqueous languages

A riddle water wrote to stump sages

Sonnet

I loved this! There was a softness that felt very water-like. Awesome job!

  • Oooo alacrity is a new word for me. Loved your poem!

Looks so cute with the grin, but those teeth. You described it so well, a riddle indeed. Now do the platypus. 😁
