The Very Woman I've Imagined

A poem on self confidence

I stand amongst the fears and hesitations of life.

Unsure and unwilling, I feel too defeated.

I know she is there. Confident as ever.

Who is she? I can see her vividly in my mind.

If only I could be like her.

She stands confident, shoulders back, and ready to take on the world.

She walks in the midst of flames that wisp around her in respect.

Her eyes glint with determination

Her smile daring as if she is ready to take on the world.

Whenever I feel lost, I imagine her standing behind me

A reassuring touch on the shoulder.

"You've got this!" she says.

She is just the woman I imagine her to be.

The very woman I've imagined myself to be.
