The Veil of Nothingness

Verse 1
There’s a hush in the darkness at midnight,
Where the world feels thin as a dying breath.
I’ve walked those roads where the moon won’t follow,
Where the silence tastes a little like death.
And the trees lean in like they’re listening
For a truth we forgot to name.
Every shadow feels like a warning,
Every heartbeat whispers the same.
Chorus
Behind the veil of nothingness,
Where the dark knows more than the light,
There’s a meaning carved in the marrow,
A truth that don’t need sight.
Reality flickers like a lantern flame
In a wind that won’t confess.
What we call “real” is just the doorway
To the deeper wilderness.
Verse 2
I’ve seen faces in the river water,
Reflections that weren’t mine to claim.
I’ve heard hymns in the rusted graveyard
Calling out my secret name.
There’s a hunger in the human heart
For answers that won’t stay still.
But the soul keeps digging through the darkness
For the one thing time can’t kill.
Chorus
Behind the veil of nothingness,
Where the dark knows more than the light,
There’s a meaning carved in the marrow,
A truth that don’t need sight.
Reality flickers like a lantern flame
In a wind that won’t confess.
What we call “real” is just the doorway
To the deeper wilderness.
Bridge
Maybe the void ain’t empty at all,
Maybe it’s full of the things we fear.
Maybe the truth is a shadowed figure
That steps closer when we draw near.
Final Chorus
Behind the veil of nothingness,
Where the soul walks stripped and bare,
There’s a meaning older than memory,
A truth that waits in the cold night air.
Reality’s only the first thin layer
Of a world we can’t dismiss.
Behind the veil of nothingness
Is where the meaning lives.
