The Troubles

A Poem

Trouble is brewing

The anger is stewing

They say one of ours

All of yours

Power whores

Their lies stoking anger and violence

The majority are no longer silent

Shifting narratives

Calling it a narrative is a lie

As we watch our citizens die

They attempt to structure their version of events

As the anger laments

Attempting to lull us into the fallacy of their imagined reality

They design it to entertain or persuade us

But we know the truth

They hate us

As they bait us into a battle against ourselves

Our rights are shelved

In pursuit of higher power

Unsatisfied

As we watch our world devoured
