Floating Heart

A Poem

My heart floats outside my body

Somewhere in the ether

Wandering

Drifting through the world

Scarred and battered

Torn and tattered

It limps across dusty plains

Wading through heavy rain

Seeking to reattach to my brain

A stain on my soul

Its mark has left a toll

I wish I had never had one

Then this world would be easier to live in
