The Sun Came Back Up
A short poem about a fresh start
Last week,
I lost my vision
blind, sleepy, fatigued
couldn’t see a thing
as clear as a crystal.
I froze to death
my body caked in goosebumps
shivering, itchy, chilly
not a touch of warmth
inside my veins.
Mid-week
I climbed up
the colossal, hard, rocky mountain
I tumbled down
quite a bit
unable to climb
back up.
I reached my peak
collapsing, overwhelmed
finding nothing but fog and haze
all was a hidden treasure
undetected.
In my pockets,
I found my secret scripture
praying, meditating, yearning
going on a spiritual marathon
to find the lost sun.
There I was
below the sun
refreshed, nourished, brightened up
I’m no longer
trapped in the den
flying free in paradise now!
