The Sky Shines Red
When You Feel Like This
At a suggestion by Cathy Holmes based on one of my instagram posts of red clouds over Fenham I have written this sad villanelle.
I've included "Red Skies" by The Fixx which goes with this poem.

I Look To The Sky And I See Red
Clouds Are Stained With The Blood of The Sun
As The Sun Sinks From View In The West

The Light Fails, I Hold On To The Thread
I Feel So Lost I Now Have No One
I Look To The Sky And I See Red

My Life Fades, I Want to Stay But Yet
On This Earth, Iβm Forced Away To Run
As The Sun Sinks From View In The West

Those Clouds Are Stained Like Thoughts In My Head
Remember Days, I Once Had Fun
I Look To The Sky And I See Red

Iβm Packing Up, I Am Not Wanted
And Like Those Red Clouds, Iβll Soon Be Gone
As The Sun Sinks From View In The West

Iβll Say Goodbye, It Makes Me So Sad
Invisible, Now My Time Is Done
