Something Wears Me When You're Near

The seams are tight—don’t tear them wide. Something below has never died. I wear this grin, a nailed-shut door; one split could unleash what lies in store.

You think you see a gentle frame, but in my eyes, a creature flames. It peers through every breath I take, starving, hungry, half-awake.

So greet me softly, keep your distance. Another awaits behind my face.

This could be a way of defining the phrase 'Two-faced' in a way. Missed your thriller/horror stories and all else. Good work.
