The Prompt

Write an acrostic using the word DISTRACTION.

Read all about it here

This is an attempt to fuse the Vocal Acrostic Challenge with the Titles of Stories by Oscar Wilde. There are two that I had to shoehorn in but all these are creations of the great Irish writer.

The format is a doctored sonnet as a sonnet has 16 lines and DISTRACTION has only 11 letters so eleven lines, so two quatrains and a tercet.

I will continue merging the "Dancing With Distraction" challenge with my "Plagiaristic Poetry" series until it closes. I know that makes me very lazy but it suits me while it is there and it is a challenge because the first letter of whatever I choose has to fit in with the challenge.

I don't think it makes you lazy :) work smarter, not harder. It is not as simple to achieve something like this as it may appear at first.

  • Ah, Mike, you deserve an Oscar for this one.

  • This was magnifique! You also execute this so brilliantly! I loved it!

  • Awesome Mike! I'm not very familiar with acrostic but this was very interesting
