Once, I thought I knew you

Someone to respect and admire.

Did you ever exist at all?

Was I just blinded by your fire?

Masks removed, facade broken

Was any of it ever even real?

Was it hiding, waiting to be woken

Do you care for the betrayal I feel?

I grieve in silence, for the friends now lost

Even if it was never true

I loved them still, that friendship past,

And the people I thought I knew.
