The Penultimate Vow

Our crippling fear of complete and irreversible fusion

created stagnant execration

a disharmony so deep-rooted

its reverberation threatens the fabric of time

becomes impenetrable relentless wave.

And were the world to begin anew without redress

of a surety

we would recreate chaos and poison of such degree

the void of eternal darkness should reign

save the Universe forbid it.

An existence damned with no word for laughter

nor concept of celestial stars

no utterance for untouched beauty

nor fiery love that climbs heights and depths of nature’s grasp.

Therefore

I pledge my life to oneness.

Surrender my soul dismantled for total immersion.

Abjure self for galactic oceans too vast for tides.

Eyes set on seamless beyonds

that contain our entirety of healed yesterdays

as union burns a consummation blaze continuum

forever birthing glorious light.
