A Sestina Inspired By The Painting By Angie Livingstone (The Glittering Fox)
Introduction
It is also my fiftieth piece inspired by Angie's work, and we are almost ready to release our co-created book, although there will be a few more poems and pictures included.
I love how this painting takes in so many creatures, nature and the night sky and earth magic.
I will create this as a sestina, so that is quite a long poem for me.

Shining Stars On Night's Dark Cloak
From Root To Branch, Silver Coat
Twix The Sticks Nature Invokes
Animals In The Oak Cote

Listen As The Rabbit Spoke
The Mystic Spell This Invokes
Under Silver Winter Oak
Shining In Its Magic Coat
Against The Dark Nights Black Cloak

Protected In Natures Coat
And Then Another Voice Spoke
T'was The Spirit Of The Oak

If I Tell You
Introduction This is based on the concept that if you tell someone what they should do, then they only do it to keep you quiet, so you have to give them gentle nudges to make them see the error of their ways. Admittedly, there are times when no amount of nudging works, and you have to come out with those words, but then you can't really trust them to keep on the right path.
