The Meeting

The feeling was in the air

A palpable sensation of terror

How had it come so far

that one can't remember who they are

***

Musical rhythms pound from clubs nearby

and a crow takes flight high in the sky

Nervously on approach one considers what to say

not knowing they should go the other way

***

Coming so far there was no stopping

not knowing that soon one body would be dropping

Hello to the darkness in my old friend

he wasn't himself, until the end

***

Shots rang out in the night

millions stunned by that shocking sight

One, Two, Three right in the chest

missing the head they all went in the vest

***

One walked away calmly like it was business as usual

while one lay in the trashy alley, nothing unusual
