The Man Who Couldn’t Smile
He walks with a shadow, heavy and still,
Eyes hollow as they stare past the hill.
No light in his chest, no spark in his gaze,
Only the weight of the countless days.
He once had a laugh, but it broke long ago,
Fell silent in rooms where no one would know.
Now his mouth is a graveyard, closed tight with a frown,
As the world spins in circles, spinning him down.
He’s tired of pretending that breath is enough,
Of hiding the cracks where the pain’s grown too tough.
Each step that he takes is a battle, a war.
Each breath is a wound that he can’t ignore.
The mirror reflects a man he can’t trust,
Whose soul is consumed, whose spirit is dust.
He’s learned to exist in a world full of sound,
But for him, there’s a silence, so deep, it drowns.
The man who couldn’t smile now wanders alone,
With nothing but grief as his only home.
No comfort in strangers, no warmth in the night,
Just a body that moves, devoid of light.
