The Lovebirds Fight
Love dies the cage falls silent

The Lovebirds Fight,
They used to sing in mirrored tones,
Now silence nests in brittle bones.
No gentle coo, no feathered grace,
Just sharpened beaks and empty space.
Perched apart on splintered wire,
Their wings once warm now spark with fire.
Chirps once sweet now twist and bite.
The lovebirds fight, something isn’t right.
Eyes that danced now barely blink,
Hearts retreat to the edge of the brink.
Claws dig deep in blame and spite,
Clutching pain through sleepless night.
They don’t remember how to mend,
If this is love, it is the end?
No song, no flight, just storm and fright.
The lovebirds fight, and lose their light.
They used to sing in mirrored tones,
Now silence nests in brittle bones.
No gentle coo, no feathered grace,
Just sharpened beaks and empty space.
Perched apart on splintered wire,
Their wings once warm now spark with fire.
Chirps once sweet now twist and bite.
The lovebirds fight, something isn’t right.
Eyes that danced now barely blink,
Hearts retreat to the edge of the brink.
Claws dig deep in blame and spite,
Clutching pain through sleepless night.
They don’t remember how to mend,
If this is love, let it end.
No song, no nest, just shattered skies.
A cage of truth, a bed of lies.
One flies off with a broken cry,
The other stays, too numb to try.
Feathers fall like ash in night.
No more love birds no more fight.

Very nice, Marie. Even lovebirds have their differences it would seem.
Nature's calling so to speak.
Oof. This one is gorgeously raw.
