The Lemon Tree

It was a giver

A lone lemon tree

laden with blossoms and fruits,

I had seen a decade back,

remains etched in my memory.

Near the trailhead,

on a hiking path,

I had came across this elegant tree,

loaded with blooms and,

copious sun-kissed lemons,

It was a sight to behold!

The whole area was perfumed,

by the flower fragrance,

gave a vibe of paradise,

captivating passersby.

A single tree,

but fed countless bees,

and they buzzed,

created melody for the ears.

It offered edible fruits,

for those needed,

and treat for the eyes it was,

with it's abundance!

That lemon tree was a giver,

it knew how to live,

a life of purpose,

so I fondly recall,

after all these years.

They really are beautiful trees, and by the way I just made a pitcher of fresh lemon water. Tastes great. Good job.
