I am the kind of friend everyone loves to have

But nobody calls.

The kind who makes people laugh or think

But doesn’t get close to anyone.

I see others come and go, form friendships, break,

And envy what they can do

And what I cannot.

I wish I could snap my fingers—

One, two, three—whish!

A best friend just for me,

Who doesn’t like me because I can listen to his problems,

Who doesn’t like me because of my skills

Who doesn’t like me because of my humor.

He likes me because of me.

The whole, everything, all.
