You Must Present for Authentication

A Public Service Announcement

By Adam KolozettiPublished about 15 hours ago 1 min read

Attention all men,

Consider this your official notice,

You have until the end of the month

To present for authentication.

Your history of action or lack thereof, although representative, will not count.

Your achievements, although impressive, will not count.

Your wealth, although easily defined, will not count.

You will present for authentication.

You will present your most vulnerable hopes and dreams.

Those provided by society or your partners will not be accepted.

You will present your raw and unfiltered emotions.

Those stifled or buried will not be accepted.

You will present your childhood self, wide eyed and untamed.

Those locked away behind emotional walls will not be accepted.

You will present what you love most about yourself.

Items told to you by others will not be accepted.

Attention all men,

You have been put on notice,

You are no longer defined solely as protectors or providers,

Unless you choose to be.

You are no longer required to be stoic at all times.

Unless you choose to be.

You are no longer required to pursue a life you do not want.

You have until the end of the month

To present for authentication.

Attention all men,

You have been put on notice.

You are encouraged to play as you did as a boy.

You are encouraged to prioritize your self worth.

You are encouraged to cry in movies.

You are encouraged to create art in whatever form you choose.

You are encouraged to be vulnerable and express how you feel.

You are encouraged to do all these things,

Provided you stand strong in your foundation,

And know exactly who you are.

You have until the end of the month,

To present for authentication.

Those who fail authentication will be judged inauthentic,

And sentenced to remain in the life they currently have.
