The Giraffe, the Horse and the Falcon
The friends who live different lifestyles

The Giraffe, the Horse and the Falcon
The giraffe stood still at the edge of dust
tall and quiet, built on trust
he saw too far, moved too slow
and held more truth than he let show
The horse was born for weight and speed
trained to listen, taught to need
he bowed his head, he bore his load
and dreamed of fields beyond the road
The falcon turned on a slice of wind
no bit, no reins, no need to bend
she answered nothing, broke no vow
and never once touched hoof or plough
They met where silence split the sky
where nothing moved, and none asked why
the giraffe looked up, the horse stood near
the falcon vanished — sharp and clear
The giraffe had height, the horse had grace
the falcon lived in a different place
they watched her go, they stayed behind
she was not made to be confined
She flew because no voice could hold
no gate could lock, no hand could fold
she flew because the wind allowed
and never once looked back or bowed
The giraffe remains, the horse endures
the falcon moves beyond all cures
some are tied and some are free
and some refuse captivity

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️

Good work and if I was still teaching, I would use this as an introduction to a science lesson.
Enjoyed the poem. Grace of raptors are inspiring.
