He asked, "Who was Shah Latif?"
"The world's first feminist poet," I said.
He asked, "How!?"
I said, "Thus:
He knew what a woman wanted.
Even Aristotle could not answer this question
That is why Allama Iqbal said:
"Thousands of times sages have solved it
Still, the problem remains the same.
All the intellectuals and poets of the world kept saying that
'Women are a problem'
Only Latif was aware of this fact:
The woman is not the problem.
A woman is love!
But that is not love
That man does!
For a man, love is the body
For a woman, love is passion.
A man's love is a snare of the flesh
A woman's love is the freedom of the soul.
A man's love is competition
A woman's love is humility.
A man's love is a bridge
A woman's love is the whole life.
A man's love is a myth
A woman's love is a reality!
All poets from Shakespeare to Shelley
And from Homer to you
Everyone thought that a woman is a lover
Only the king knew that the woman was in love
Hence Shah Latif wrote:
'Woman is the teacher of love.'
Everyone thought that
What does a woman want?
A throne; luck and a hard body!?
Shah Abdul Latif knew that
A woman needs love
Soft and delicate, warm and fuzzy
Beyond the body
Independent of sex.
In the jungle of the male body
Wanders a hungry beast.
A woman in the heart of the soul
Is a flying butterfly
Who is thirsty for love.
Love hunger for man
And love for woman
Is a thirst!
Only Latif knew
A woman's lips are a beach
And her existence is an ocean
Flowing from the eyes
A sea of tears
Which is also salty
And
Beautiful too!!
In which there is turmoil
In which there is sorrow
In which there is no sorrow
There is only pain."
