The day I made the decision,

To give up something I loved,

Was filled with heartache and division,

My heart heavy as a stone.

It was a love that once was pure,

That brought me joy and peace of mind.

But now it caused so much pain,

And left me feeling blind.

I knew I had to let it go,

Though it hurt me to the core.

For holding on just made it worse,

And left me feeling sore.

It wasn't easy to say goodbye,

To something that once was mine.

But I knew it was the right choice,

And it would lead to better times.

So I took a deep breath and let go,

And faced the future with a smile.

For even though it was hard to do,

I knew it was worth it all the while.
